The music videos are up!

Well it looks like all of our hard work a few weekends ago has paid off, with the first two of four music videos going live today!  HUGE thanks to Joe Filipas of Sugo Media for coming down from Minneapolis to shoot the videos, and then spending the extra time to edit them and make em all purdy.  With further ado, I’m very excited to present the music videos for “Kind Eyes” and “Girl Who Steals!”

Stay tuned for when we announce the next two videos that will be coming out!

Local Anesthetic

Howdy folks,

I know most of you were probably busy on Sunday evening watching some big event on the television where muscular men tossed around leathery, over-inflated thing–but enough about the Madonna half-time show. ZING!

Sunday night, while you were stuffing your face with wings and beer, our tune The Circus was featured on WXRT’s Local Anesthetic. You can check out the whole episode on at WXRT’s website. We’re on at about the 10 minute mark.

Our first airplay, and hopefully won’t be our last!

Video Teasers

Thanks to our awesome friend Joe Filipas of Sugo Media, two weekends ago we spent a long, arduous, and slightly drunken day filming four music videos to promote our album We are Enablers (available on iTunes, Amazon, and BandCamp). We’re proud to announce that the first two videos will be premiering next Wednesday.

Here’s a little taste of what’s in store:

Girl Who Steals:

Kind Eyes:

Also, if you’re in Chicago, make sure to join us this Friday at Martyrs’ for what will likely be our last show in Chicago for a while!

As any of my friends know, I’m a huge nerd.  And as such, I listen to a videogame podcast every week – IGN’s Podcast Beyond.  They play a listener-contributed song each show, and this week we were featured!!!  So first of all, to any of the fine folk who have stumbled on our site from listening to the podcast – BEYOND!

It’s incredibly cool for us to be featured on a podcast, but also incredibly surreal to have the podcast talk about us.  It’s kind of like if I were watching a talk show and someone mentioned they had just listened to our music.  Here’s what one of the hosts, Ryan Clements, had to say:

“This is one of the examples of they send us in a song, and I listen to the song and I say to myself ‘I would go to one of their shows.  I would totally listen.  I would grab a beer, and fries, and listen to Spacecaveman, by The Mediocre Fight.”  That.  Is.  Awesome.

So to Ryan Clements, Greg Miller, and Colin Moriarty, THANK YOU, and BEYOND!

For any fellow nerds out there who AREN’T listening to this podcast, shame on you.  Do yourself a favor and subscribe to all of IGN’s podcasts here: http://www.ign.com/index/podcasts.html

And if you want to hear the podcast we were featured on, you can download it from iTunes or this link: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1214954p1.html

Even if you don’t play videogames it’s still a hilarious podcast and should go into your podcast rotation.

Also, as you know from last week’s Mediocre Fight, Julian is a huge nerd.  Here’s the text I got from him tonight: “Hahahaha I just listened, that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!! They love you!  I also love how u plugged the blog, which currently features me as a nerd!  EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF”

Again, in case you missed it, Julian is a nerd.  Also also, he’s met the Podcast Beyond crew.  Truf.

You can never have enough thank-yous

Wow, I cannot possibly express in words how incredibly thrilled I was after our show on Saturday. We easily had the biggest crowd we’ve played for, and pretty much every person there said this was the best show we’ve played. That is due to the awesome musicians we played with and the great energy of the crowd. Thank, thank, THANK you also much! Also a huge shout out to the other acts that night, who were all incredible – Faraz Choudry, Tiffany Thompson & Jenn Bostic, esh,and Deadbeat Darling. I would gladly play with any of these awesome acts again. and of course, huge thanks to Swizzle Steve and Double Door for organizing such an awesome show. Hopefully we’ll be playing many more just like it.

Now, as you may well know this show was our CD release party, which does indeed mean our CD is officially up for sale! You can buy it now from our Music page for a minimum of $5 (or more if you’re an especially awesome person), and shortly the album will be available from iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.

We’ll have more updates soon, but for now I can’t say enough how thankful we are for our friends, fans, fellow musicians, and most importantly our Kickstarter backers – without whomever none of this would be possible.

We’ve got more shows in the works – check back here soon to find out more!
