Mediocre Fight of the Day: A Rose by Any Other Name vs Smelling As Sweet

The Mediocre Fight

Well I’m pretty sure that’s now our longest post title, sooo time to celebrate that huge milestone!  So anyways I was thinking about the line “What’s in a name? that which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet” (because I’m so cool that I’ll sometimes sit and contemplate William Shakespeare in my spare time) and thought to myself, is that really true?  Our experiences are so tied into pre-conceived notions that we have, we can fool ourselves into getting healthy by taking sugar pills, just because we think they’re real medicine.  Why wouldn’t it be the same with a name convincing us of what a flower would smell like before actually smelling it?  So, here’s a few names that I think would probably make a rose smell less sweet:

Ebola Blossom

Stanky Stank

Diarrhea Flower

Dogfart Tulip

Sweaty Man Ass

Carrot Top

And as a reminder, we still need your help to make an album!  Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far, and for those who are about to!  You can get awesome rewards like signed copies of the album, signed prints of your favorite Mediocre Fight, a trading card made for you, a cover of a song of your choosing, and more!  You can learn more at The Mediocre Fight’s Kickstarter page
