‘Twas a good night

Well, even though the Bulls weren’t able to pull it out in overtime, it was still a good night tonight.  It was our first time back in rehearsal at Music Garage since we started recording our album, and boy did things both feel and sound good tonight.  Since we’ve been playing our parts pretty much constantly for the past two weeks, we breezed through our setlist for the show at Goose Island on Friday and had an extra half hour to mess around.  Here’s a drum solo from Jason to commemorate things:

Yeah.  He’s good.  And since I don’t think we’ve ever posted pictures from the rehearsal studio, here’s the rest of the gang.  I was taking the pictures, so if you want to see me slappin’ da bass you’ll have to come to the show this Friday.  Goose Island Wrigleyville.  Be there.

Mediocre Fight of the Day: Spam vs The Mediocre Fight

The Mediocre Fight

Somebody recently said to me, “Paul, your band basically has the most popular blog on the internet now.  How did you know when you had made it big?”  I looked back into the mirror and responded, “Well Paul, it all comes down to basically one thing: Spam.”  You know you’ve really made it when spammers sit up and take notice, and boy do we get a lot of spam.  So to commemorate us hitting the big time, here’s some of my favorite spam posts we’ve received.

Comment: “A couple times a week, I take some oatmeal, (about 3/4 cup) and enough water to moisten the oatmeal, and that i put it in the blender. I put this on my face for around Fifteen minutes, and i rinse with cool water. Oatmeal takes down swelling and redness, and has a small drying affect. It is necessary not to use too much water or else it’ll run down your face. :) ” – Rico Gonzalez, on Britan vs Dentistry
Response: This… this just creeps me out

Comment: “A thoughtful insight and ideas I will use on my blog. You’ve obviously spent a lot of time on this. Thank you!” – Football Fan, on Nudity vs Frying Bacon
Response: Well, I guess I’m glad you’re using the idea of not frying bacon while nude on your site.  You’re welcome for that thoughtful insight.

Comment: “Artikel yang informative gan. Kl blh tau, di mana juragan mendapatkan tema themenya? Themenya sangat bagus, sepertinya itu yang dirancang secara profesional, thanks.” – Iklan
Response: …. Uhh… you’re welcome?

Comment: “We now have go through a few using the subject material articles in your internet now, and i genuinely like your trend of jogging a blog. Keep in mind test it out sometime and sense totally free to go away me a comenet on it and tell me what assume that. Im typically uncover feedback.2″ - 抓姦
Response: Seriously, I have no idea what you people are saying.

Comment: “Heya i’m for the first time here. I found this board and I find It really useful & it helped me out much. I hope to give something back and aid others like you aided me.” – Margereta, on the Rebecca Black “Friday” post
Response: Well Margereta, I’m glad that my analysis of Rebecca Black’s song helped you out so much.

Comment: “Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!” - Niewiem Dabylbfocketfaminoj
Response: Niewiem Dabylbfocketfaminoj, you sadistic bastard.

Comment: “Thank you for the post! I hope you post more stuff like this. I am always looking for more Starcraft 2.” - Josiah Bridgette, on “Greek Gods vs Roman Gods.”
Response: Well, I have no idea what Greek & Roman gods have to do with Starcraft 2, but you’re welcome for the post.

Comment: “I personally believe there is a knowlege to writing articles that only a few posses and frankly you have it , you genius;3$4″ – image free psp games video
Response: Thank you for the wonderful comment, image free psp games video.  I’m glad you liked my thought provoking analysis of Narwhals vs Unicorns so much.

And finally, the one that actually made me laugh out loud because it was so ironic:
Comment: “You might want to increase your spam filtering, it seems like your blog has a lot of spam comments.5″ – Home Vajazzle Kits
Response: Now this one had me curious, so I actually looked up the website tied to the poster.  Apparently a “Vajazzle Kit” is basically for a woman to decorate her naughty bits with Swarovski crystals.  I shit you not.
