Thanks to our awesome friend Joe Filipas of Sugo Media, two weekends ago we spent a long, arduous, and slightly drunken day filming four music videos to promote our album We are Enablers (available on iTunes, Amazon, and BandCamp). We’re proud to announce that the first two videos will be premiering next Wednesday.
Here’s a little taste of what’s in store:
Girl Who Steals:
Also, if you’re in Chicago, make sure to join us this Friday at Martyrs’ for what will likely be our last show in Chicago for a while!
Let me just start off by saying we like sock monkeys. We like them a lot. We also like where they gather to dish on music and culture “Sock Monkey Sound.” Apparently they like us too. Wow, I cannot possibly express in words how incredibly thrilled I was after our show on Saturday. We easily had the biggest crowd we’ve played for, and pretty much every person there said this was the best show we’ve played. That is due to the awesome musicians we played with and the great energy of the crowd. Thank, thank, THANK you also much! Also a huge shout out to the other acts that night, who were all incredible – Faraz Choudry, Tiffany Thompson & Jenn Bostic, esh,and Deadbeat Darling. I would gladly play with any of these awesome acts again. and of course, huge thanks to Swizzle Steve and Double Door for organizing such an awesome show. Hopefully we’ll be playing many more just like it.
Now, as you may well know this show was our CD release party, which does indeed mean our CD is officially up for sale! You can buy it now from our Music page for a minimum of $5 (or more if you’re an especially awesome person), and shortly the album will be available from iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.
We’ll have more updates soon, but for now I can’t say enough how thankful we are for our friends, fans, fellow musicians, and most importantly our Kickstarter backers – without whomever none of this would be possible.
We’ve got more shows in the works – check back here soon to find out more!
After many months of hard work and HUGE support from friends like you, we finally have the album in hand! Here’s a look:
We can’t wait to get these in your hands! Don’t forget, this Saturday, December 3, is our official release party at Double Door Chicago. We’ll have CDs on hand for those that already bought them, and selling copies for anyone who hasn’t picked one up yet. Not only that, we’ll be putting on an awesome show with 9 other fantastic musicians. I’m in one of those “too excited to sleep” moods, can’t wait to play all the new music for you this weekend!
Go listen to Passed Time now! This is one of my favorite tracks, partly because it’s like 3 great songs in one, and partly because it was so much fun to record. The last part of the song came from us being locked in a little recording booth with a bag full of percussion instruments. At one point I got to play a chair as an instrument. Good times, happy times. Enjoy!
“Kind Eyes” is now available for your listening pleasure, for a limited time. This is one of my personal favorites, due in large part to the addition of Erik Kang from Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s on violon.
UPDATE: As promised this was only up for a limited time, go listen to the next track!
Now that we’ve finished mixing and mastering the album, we can start sharing some of the music we’ve been working on for the last several months with you. We’ll be posting a new song every day, but it will only be up for a short time so listen to it quickly!
The first song we’re sharing is also the first song off the album. Listen to “The Circus” from our forthcoming album, “We Are Enablers.”
